— The meaning of Haya

Haya is more than modesty.

The word Haya is often translated as modesty, but its meaning extends far beyond appearance. At its core, Haya reflects an inner sense of awareness, dignity, and the quiet voice that guides us toward safety, trust, and self-respect.

Haya encompasses both inner virtues and outer practices—reflecting dignity, spiritual connection, and the protection of personal boundaries.

Haya Healing Psychotherapy is grounded in this philosophy: a space where inner safety and trust allow meaningful healing to unfold.

— Meet your therapist

I'm Momna—the therapist behind Haya Healing Psychotherapy.

I offer a grounded space for reflection, clarity, and growth. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) dedicated to supporting individuals through anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and life transitions.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy, while remaining deeply attentive to each person's lived experience.

I understand that reaching out for support often comes during moments of uncertainty or overwhelm. My role is to offer a steady, respectful, and collaborative space where you can begin to make sense of what you are carrying.

"Your story is honoured here. Your pace is respected."

— A personal note

Why I do this work.

I became a psychotherapist because I've always been fascinated by human behaviour—understanding why people think, feel, and respond the way they do. Every person has a unique story, and I believe our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, others, and the world.

Compassion, curiosity, and a steady presence through life's uncertainties.
Momna

On a personal level, I understand what it feels like to face difficult moments without the support you need. That experience has shaped the kind of therapist I strive to be—someone who offers compassion, curiosity, and a steady presence through life's uncertainties.

Growing up as the eldest daughter in an immigrant household, and now as a mother, has given me a deep appreciation for identity, cultural expectations, and balancing multiple worlds. These lived experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds with empathy, cultural humility, and respect.

At the heart of my work

Everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful change.

— Who this work is for

I work with the people the world expects to hold it all together.

I work with women, couples, families, children, and adolescents navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and the weight of daily expectations—with a particular passion for women's mental health: identity, self-esteem, burnout, motherhood, and changing life roles.

"My goal is to meet you where you are—with care that's collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs."
